A Must-Try Restaurant - Old Place

Living in the pineapple field college, we all can feel there are only few restaurant options. If you ask me what to eat for dinner after school, the only one restaurant I will recommend without hesitation is Old Place. Located near Mingxiong downtown, it sells Taiwanese lunchbox meals. To know why it can earn a good reputation among students, I conclude three reasons why this small restaurant has been booming since it starts.

Firstly, the portion and the price are the elements will be considered when it comes to meals. Undoubtedly, Old Place never fails you whenever you see the food-piled bowl. In my knowledge, I eat more than regular guys. I won’t lie to you that there’s no single time I didn’t gorge my stomach when I walked out Old Place. This restaurant provides options of extra rice, braised pork and soup for free. It also provides seaweed soup and black tea, again, for free. Moreover, all the meals will only cost you from 70 to 90 NTD dollars, which is really a great deal for students with limited financial capacity!

Secondly, the balanced diet is also important part of healthy consuming. After choosing the main meal, customers can select five more side dishes among various vegetables and fried food. For people who want more dietary fiber in the meals, it’s a great news to know. After leaving for college from home, I always worried that it could be hard to find a restaurant that provides affordable, healthy and hearty meals at the same time, since the price and healthy food seem contradictory. That’s the reason why I want to share this restaurant with you, because it fits these three features!

Thirdly, the priceless kindness in the restaurant is the main reason why I am addicted to Old Place. Even though it’s always crowded, everyone’s attitude is great. If you have been some famous restaurant, you probably can see some clerks who have bad manner towards customers. Being in the busy and crowded environment, I don’t blame them being rude, but there’s a high chance that I won’t visit that place ever again (another reason why I have never been in Hong Kong restaurants). Anyway, back on the track. Old place sometimes even provides free meals for me to take away whenever there’s extra food left. As a matter of fact, they have provided me free bananas, a bag of cookies, ice cream, sweet bread, etc., with warm generosity.

To conclude, Old Place is a great restaurant for people who are looking for healthy, hearty, affordable meals. If possible, I would suggest everyone should give it a try. However, please notice that it only opens on workdays at 11:00-13:00 and 17:00-19:00, and you should have the mental prepare for being squashed like sardines.
